Keppel’s first batch of Green Ambassadors passed their training and assessment sessions with flying colours and are now certified to serve as guides at the Keppel Discovery Wetlands

Some five Keppelites from across the Group have successfully completed the training by NParks to become Green Ambassadors at the Keppel Discovery Wetlands.

“Through the training, I have come to appreciate the beauty and ecological importance of the Keppel Discovery Wetlands. It is especially fulfilling to know that the knowledge I share with others may inspire them to do their part for the environment,” shared Charlotte Law, Assistant Business Development Manager, Keppel FELS.

“It is a privilege to be part of Keppel’s first batch of Green Ambassadors. I found the training sessions by NParks very interesting and informative. It is really amazing that the public can enjoy such diverse habitats in the heart of the city,” echoed Mohan Kumaran, Senior Quality Assurance Manager, Keppel Singmarine.

In partnership with NParks, Keppel’s Green Ambassadors will serve as guides at Keppel Discovery Wetlands as well as facilitators for crafts workshops to be held at the Jacob Ballas Children’s Garden.

In order to qualify as a Green Ambassador, Keppelites participated in a training programme which entailed induction sessions and site visits. Participants also honed their presentation skills through shadowing experienced NParks guides on tours.

The Keppel Discovery Wetlands in the Singapore Botanic Gardens was opened in March 2017 and encompasses a variety of freshwater forest wetland habitats and a carefully curated plant collection comprising over 200 plant species.

Keppel’s first batch of Green Ambassadors will host tours at the Keppel Discovery Wetlands come January 2019!
